Art Area & Workshops

Doujinshi is an important aspect of the culture of Anime. Loosely translated as "amateur work" the term refers to the artwork created by fans of manga.

Over the years Animania Festival has been privileged to display fantastic and inspiring anime artworks by local professional and amateur artists alike. The Art Area of the Festival is where these artworks are put on display, including entries into the Festival's Doodling Art Competition - stunning sketches that are sometimes created only in a matter of minutes!

The Art Area will also be home to some fun competitions, so make sure to drop by and check them out!

Tables for independent artists to showcase and sell their work will also feature at the Festival. A list of Artists attending the Festival can be found on the confirmed stallholders page.

ART COMPETITIONS

ART WORKSHOP

ORIGAMI

Literally meaning “folding paper”, origami is the art of paper folding, where through the use of various geometric folds and crease patterns one is able to create any shape or object just using paper! From simple paper cranes and boats to complex inflatable boxes and moving animals, origami can be a fun and intricate hobby for all ages.

Origami workshops for beginners will be held in the Art Area of the Festival. Our friendly Animania Staff will guide you through all the techniques, simple and complex, to create a variety of shapes and objects that once completed you can take with you as a souvenir of your accommplishment!

Places will be limited! So make sure to head to the Art Area (table will be clearly marked) at 2pm to join in!
