Cosplay Competition
Cosplay - Animania's most visual and favourite event - will be back with full force!! And this year, the Cosplay Team will be hosting a range of activities and competitions.
A definitely unique experience, Cosplay is a much-loved event at all anime-related events and Animania Festival plays host to one of the best Cosplay Competitions in Australia. (For more information on what Cosplay is, click here.)
In 2008, we look forward to an extraordinary year of Cosplay and expect fans to pull out all stops to bring the ultimate self-created costumes that will pay homage to their most favourite character, bringing it to life for all to see. The best, most creative and most spectacular costumes and performances will not only be rewarded with great prizes, but also the honour of earning a top place in one of Animania Festival’s most loved competitions.
Coinciding with Animania Festival’s regular Cosplay Competition, the Festival is also proud to be playing host to the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) Preliminary Competition for Australia. Please note these are two separate competitions.
Entrants may not necessarily be competing in both events. Individuals wishing to enter either or both competitions must indicate this when they register online. Once registered, they will be informed by email if they qualify for the competition.
Whether you're competing or just interested in the show, come see Japanese anime personified at its best by fans of all ages (and types!), grab a photo and be mesmerized by the costumes presented by the anime fans of Australia.
PRE-REGISTER
All entrants into either the Animania Festival Cosplay Competition or the WCS Preliminary and Preselections MUST pre-register their intent to compete online prior to the Festival. This is to ensure a fabulous, on-time show and also saves both you (and us!) time and hassles by sorting out the paperwork before hand - oh, and it cuts down on the queuing time too!
Cosplay Registration is free and NOW OPEN!! Registration closes August 15th.

Sick of checking in your cosplay props in the cloak room?
Animania (August) is having the first Australian prop/weapon competition - the Bankai competition! All you will need to do to show off those props is register online and bring your prop/weapon to Animania's Cosplay HQ where it will be displayed until Cosplay Marshalling starts. Meanwhile, judges will select the best prop/weapon and prizes will be presented at the award ceremony.

COSPLAY EXPO
Animania Festival will be featuring the first-ever Cosplay Expo! Take a look and admire Animania Cosplay through the years as winning Cosplay costumes will be placed on display.
