D2MG HIP HOP ACADEMY

D2MG (dance.dj.mc.graffiti) is more of a community than an organisation. Based in Sydney, Australia, D2MG is comprised of a Hip Hop Society based in the University of New South Wales and a Hip Hop Academy based at their City Studio.

As a non-profit organisation D2MG seeks to benefit its members and supporters, and aspires to be an active gateway between Sydney's underground Hip Hop scene and the university community. Through embodying all elements of Hip Hop culture, D2MG believe Hip Hop is an expression of personal identity as well as an important sense of the collective and the networks in which people belong. As the largest university Hip Hop society in the southern hemisphere, D2MG seeks out these social networks in an effort to bring them to the forefront of university life, and to the extended community.

D2MG is part of a global Hip Hop movement that celebrates and encourages the spread of the Hip Hop culture. With such an open forum, our member body have many unique opportunities to explore and exhibit their knowledge and skills. D2MG have many internal and external links with the local urban scene, having resources that consist of professional dancers, bboys & bgirls (breakdancers), R&B, Hip Hop and House DJs, freestyle MCs, beatboxers and graffiti artists.
