Fans of anime and manga - young and old - can expect heaps of features at this year's Animania Festival Weekend celebrating Japanese popular culture. Learn more about the unique and vibrant fan community in Australia, meet new people and open your eyes to the fun, the quirky and AWESOME!!

In a year of mega firsts Animania Festival will also be hosting not one, but TWO major Cosplay events. Animania Festival will feature its traditional, long-time running Cosplay Competition - a much-loved foundation of the Festival.

But wait there's more!

Animania Festival is proud to host for the first time the Australian Preliminary Competition for the World Cosplay Summit! The winning Cosplayer team of this Preliminary Competition will head to Nagoya, Japan to represent Australia in this international level Cosplay event in 2009!

And of course there's still more!

No Animania Festival would be complete without it's staple features including Karaoke, Screenings and video games in the Games Zone, as well as plenty of new events and competitions including the Cosplay Expo & Auction, martial arts demonstrations, new things-to-do in the Activities Area, the Asian Ball Jointed Dolls feature and a revamped and even whackier Animania Olympia - Animania Festival's very own Japanese-style Game Show!!
