On March 11th 2011 the massive Tohoku Earthquake struck Northern Japan and the subsequent devastation that followed. During Animania Sydney March, we have organised a few options for people to contribute.
Japan Foundation, Sydney Staff have volunteered their time to setup a donation stand and raffles have been organised as well with prizes donated by Stallholders.
And a request from Japan - "There is a unique chance for cosplayers from around the world to come together impartially and express themselves in the best way they can. We sincerely hope for your support in this endeavor. The only requirement is for you to collect photos of cosplayers holding an A4 size piece of paper with the Japanese flag and a brief message." To support Japan, photographers will be organised to take photos of cosplayers with their message. We strongly encourage all cosplayers to come with a pre-prepared message, but Animania will prepare a standard message for those who couldn't organise it. To take part in this support for Japan, please come to the Cosplay Area to get your photo taken.
